My “Why?”

A few months after graduating from the University of Alabama with degrees in Marketing and Psychology, I boarded a plane with my camera, graduate school assignments in my backpack, and a growing dream for what my future could look like. Over the next eight weeks, I traveled through Greece, France, Italy, Spain, and Iceland, visiting more than 15 cities and exploring over 30 resorts and wedding venues. What I expected to be an incredible trip became something much more—it became the experience that helped me discover my "why?"

Some of my favorite memories weren't the famous landmarks or bucket-list destinations. They were the quiet moments: watching the sunset over the Mediterranean, getting lost in cobblestone streets, sharing meals with new friends, and experiencing cultures that felt completely different from my own. I learned to slow down and appreciate the beauty in both the extraordinary and the everyday.

At the same time, this journey deepened my passion for Anchor & Orbit, the destination wedding and travel company I co-founded. Traveling through these destinations, meeting hospitality professionals, and stepping inside some of Europe's most beautiful venues and churches showed me the power of travel to bring people together and create lifelong memories. It reminded me that behind every trip, wedding, celebration, and photograph is a story worth telling.

Looking back, Europe gave me more than beautiful photos and new stamps in my passport. It gave me clarity. It showed me that my passion lies at the intersection of travel, storytelling, creativity, and human connection. Whether I'm behind a camera, planning a destination wedding, creating a marketing campaign, or helping someone experience a dream destination, my goal is the same: to help people create moments they'll never forget.
